Bronx-born singer, songwriter and MC is challenging the world's perception of success with her raw expression, heartfelt lyrics and uncensored societal view. Rosangelica uses piano, guitar, and spoken word both in the studio, and live to connect with her audience. Her voice unexpectedly fills up a room accompanied by rhymes to make someone stop for a moment. A sister to the emerging “pollen” genre, Rosangelica's music explores the worlds of Reggaeton, Folk, and House, while embracing her love for Hip-Hop and R&B with a hint of sazon.
Inheriting influences such as Celia Cruz and Erykah Badu, Rosangelica is the voice we remember but haven't heard yet. A Cuban and Colombian child of Salsa and Hip-Hop, Rosangelica mixes power vocals, spoken word, and live instrumentation with a conscious lens to differentiate herself from the average artist looking for a buck. Her timeless songwriting on “Miss America” and “Death to Misogyny” has been deemed classic by her supporters. Her latest single, "The Origin" is both an announcement as she welcomes her unborn son into the world, and a statement as she takes up space in the commercial world of Hip-Hop where anyone can be a rapper, but only a true wordsmith and crowd pleaser can be an MC.
Rosangelica is currently working on a second album with plans to tour and touch all corners of the world with her music. In past years she has performed all over NYC at The Heath Gallery, The Shed, SOB’s, Museo Del Barrio, Mr. Mcgoo’s, and even Riker’s Island. The stage is where her heart and soul shine through. For some, fame and recognition is the goal, but for this guarachera, bringing joy and uplifting humanity’s spirit is the true prize.
